چکیده

Abstract The formation of complex organic molecules by simulated secondary electrons generated in the track galactic cosmic rays was investigated interstellar ice analogs composed methanol and carbon dioxide. processed ices were subjected to temperature-programmed desorption mimic transition a cold molecular cloud warmer star-forming region. Reaction products detected as they sublime using photoionization reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometry. By employing isotopic labeling, tunable computed adiabatic ionization energies isomers C 2 H 4 O 3 investigated. Product carbonic acid monomethyl ester (CH OCOOH) glycolic (HOCH COOH) identified. abundance reactants analog low irradiation dose necessary form these indicates that are exemplary candidates for detection. Molecules sharing tautomeric relationship with acid, dihydroxyacetaldehyde ((OH) CCHO), enol ethenetriol (HOCHC(OH) ), not found despite being conditions have successfully produced tautomerization other systems.

Rate of Hydration of Carbon Dioxide and Dehydration of Carbonic Acid at 25”*

Although the full evidence for this scheme is not yet available, it is clearly more general than the “classical” reaction scheme (see e.g. Edsall and Wyman (5)), which assumed that k13 = kal = 0. The constants klz and ks, are very large, k12 probably being of the order of 5 x lOlo ~hl se@, and kzl of the order of 107 see-1 (3). The absolute values of these velocity constants do not concern us f...

Sympatho-adrenal stimulation by carbon dioxide and the inhibitory effect of carbonic acid on epinephrine response.

Carbon dioxide serves as a potent stimulus to increase the titer of circulating sympatho-adrenal catechol amines in the cat. Using the denervated nictitating membrane as an assay method the CO2 threshold for adrenal stimulus was determined to be about 1.57~ concentration in alveolar air. Adrenalectomy decreased by 600/, the catechol amine titer initiated by 307~ COS, but hepatectomy was ineffec...

Photocatalytic Reduction of Carbon Dioxide to Formic Acid, Formaldehyde, and Methanol Using Dye-Sensitized TiO2 Film

A bifunctionalized TiO2 film containing a dye-sensitized zone and a catalysis zone is designed for visible-light photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to chemicals continuously. Charge separation can be accomplished with electron transferring to catalysis zone and positive charge transforming to anode. Highly efficient conversion of CO2 to formic acid, formaldehyde, and methanol is achieved through t...
